Cayla Primous
Who, me?
Cayla was born and raised in Marietta, Georgia, along with her brother and sister. Growing up as a middle child, she is used to fighting for attention in her own way. As a young child, she jumped through various activities. She tried cheerleading, soccer, gymnastics, basketball, dance, and eventually realized musical theatre was the place to be.
Throughout her childhood, she loved to pretend as though she was one of The Cheetah Girls and she would watch Step Up until her sister simply couldn't stand it anymore. Cayla began her musical theatre journey in 3rd grade with the role of Mrs. Gloop in Willy Wonka Jr., and in case you were wondering, it wasn't her best work. She went on to audition for her school's drama club the following years, performing in Beauty and the Beast Jr. and Mulan Jr. By this point, her love for theatre began to swell. Eventually, she went on to attend the Cobb County Center for Excellence in the Performing Arts at Pebblebrook High School in Mableton, GA. The program allowed her to visit New York City for the first time and see her first Broadway show.
Cayla is thrilled to be finishing up her senior year as a Musical Theatre major at Texas State University under the direction of Kaitlin Hopkins and she can't wait to see what happens next!
